old artwork i made last year for an exhibit entitled Maskara (mask).
i've been really slacking at making art, so how do you cure it?
a dose of inspirations doesn't seem to do the trick.

This is the loveliest and loneliest thing I've seen in a while. I superlove it.

I wish I could give you good advice about making art instead of slacking, but I've been slacking for months now. None of my old tricks are working. I've read all the comments prior to mine and didn't get anything from them I haven't tried already. It's very frustrating. And depressing, for me. Ugh. I wish you the very best in getting back on track.

Are you still in possession of this piece? If so, would you be willing to sell it?

aww i wish you the same, inspiration and motivation are two different things. there's enough inspiration going around for me to create art but what we need is a great motivation!

and yes i still have this artwork and i think i'm okay selling it i just need to figure if i can send through mail cause courier would be too expensive.

Yes, I find so many things very inspiring, so I guess it is motivation that I lack. Sigh. Still don't know what to do about it, however.

I am wondering if DHL Global Mail might be the best way to go about sending a package. Have you checked them out? I know it could take about a month, and will still be somewhat expensive, but I don't know how expensive. I find that sort of stuff very confusing! : P

same reason why i can't open an online shop sometimes sending a package may cost more than the package itself, unless you send it by mail which is often unreliable.

hey what about we just swap small art/card what not?! :D

i'm really sorry i didn't respond to this sooner. yes yes! I'd love to swap. how should we go about that? i'd need time to make something i felt was good enough to send, though. i'm still fail in the art department but i think things are beginning to get better.

just pick up your pencil and draw. Give yourself projects to do and keep chugging at it everday. Eventually your "engine" will get warmed up and then NO more artblock! :)

I love this illustration.
But as far as curing a lack of motivation, I'm not sure. I often have the same problem. I know for me, the one way to cure it is to just stop thinking about it and make something, anything. The physical act of creating even if the peice doesn't feel very special, often inspires on its own. It's just really hard to force yourself to do art when you really don't feel like it.

yes that's really true and i always thought it's because of the lack of inspiration but it's not may i'm just getting lazy.

thank you :)
